JUNIOR JUDO

Judo is fun, challenging and keeps us fit.  It’s especially good for helping us have more self confidence because we get stronger and better all the time and we see how listening, watching and practicing is how we learn – just like in school.  Judo is a sport where you need to keep clean, cut your nails short, and keep your hair tied back, so your parents probably like that part!

Some people might feel a bit worried that the moves in judo are in Japanese, but don’t panic, there are english words for everything too and some web sites that could help you remember some words better.  Maybe you’ll love Japanese, keep learning it, and even understand some Manga cartoons one day!

The first thing you learn at Judo is how to fall correctly.  This may seem boring but if you make your ‘breakfalls’ louder and bigger each time it can look quite spectacular!  Falling correctly makes you braver when being thrown and can also save you from breaking an arm or leg outside of classes.

I really hope you can find all the Judo things you want in the Junior Judo pages, if you need something adding let me know.
